  Fall Career Development Events

  Event Description:

Fall Career Development Events are held in October every year at Rutgers University. The events that are held during this time include Fruit and Vegetable Identification and judging, Turf Management, Land Judging, Forestry and Milk Quality and Products. This is the qualifying event for the Milk Quality and Products and Forestry teams to go to National Convention.

Career Development Events are competitive events that chapter members engage in that are focused around a particular career (or several careers) that a student involved in agricultural education may consider pursuing in the future. Student prepare for these events at their home chapter with the guidance of their chapter advisor or outside resource. Fall CDEs are held on the third Thursday of November at Rutgers University. Each event is coordinated by an expert in the industry of that particular event. State Staff members and State Officers are stationed throughout these events to assist in conducting them, organizing scan-trons, or helping ensure that the event runs smoothly in other ways. The objective of these events is to prepare students for future careers in agriculture to held fill the growing demand and employment gap.
